Structured cabling, electronic security, and automation in Panama
The context
When I founded PROOQ S.A. in 2013, Panama was in a real estate and commercial boom, but most SMBs were making technology infrastructure decisions with fragmented vendors: one for cabling, another for cameras, another for internet, another for telephony. The result: systems that didn’t talk to each other, cost overruns, and no one responding when something failed.
PROOQ S.A. was built as a single infrastructure partner: one accountable interlocutor responsible for everything working.
My role
Founder and technical director. I design the architectures, define the standards, and lead operations. Today, with a small team of certified technicians, we handle projects from small commercial spaces to bank branches.
Service lines
1. Network infrastructure
Design and implementation of enterprise networks: Cat 6/6A structured cabling, fiber optic, managed switches, enterprise-grade WiFi APs (Ubiquiti UniFi), VLAN segmentation, QoS for voice/video.
2. Electronic security
CCTV systems with leading brands (DAHUA, HIKVISION). Design from a single camera to NVRs with 64+ channels, integration with biometric access control, alarms, and intrusion detection. Official manufacturer certifications for tier-1 technical support.
3. IP telephony
GRANDSTREAM as the main stack — UCM PBX, IP phones, integration with local SIP carriers. Migration from analog PBX to IP with zero operational downtime.
4. Servers and storage
TrueNAS SCALE/CORE for enterprise storage, Ubuntu Server for services, Docker/Portainer for containerized apps. Design of RAID schemes, snapshots, replication, offsite backups.
5. Automation
Self-hosted N8N (at n8n.prooq.com) to connect all the client’s systems: WhatsApp
notifications when security events happen, daily automatic reports, CRM/ERP integrations,
bots for repetitive tasks. This pivots PROOQ from installer to digital partner of
the client.
Differentiators
- It costs because it meets regulations: NEC for electrical cabling, TIA/EIA for networks, DGI standards when electronic invoicing is involved. We don’t compete on price against the “cousin’s technician friend” — we compete on quality and traceability.
- Deliverable documentation: every project closes with diagrams, inventory, vaulted passwords, custom manuals. If in 5 years the client changes provider, they find everything organized.
- WhatsApp-first support: the channel where clients actually look for us. Business hours response SLA, escalated to 24/7 emergency for clients with contracts.
- Suite HUB as software layer: when the client requests POS, electronic invoicing, or management, we integrate Suite HUB — we are a single hardware + software vendor.

To operate as a “tier 1” provider, you must keep manufacturer certifications current. PROOQ S.A. maintains active certs in:
- Cisco CCNA 200-301 (routing, switching, security fundamentals)
- DAHUA Certified Engineer (video surveillance)
- HIKVISION Partner (CCTV + access control)
- GRANDSTREAM Certified Technician (IP telephony)
