AeroVision Studio
Professional aerial photography and video with drones
Why it exists
When I got my FAA Part 107 license in the US and the AESA A1/A3 certification in Spain, the challenge was how to turn that operational capacity into serious commercial projects. Local companies wanted aerial content but the market was full of uncertified operators flying without insurance or regulation.
AeroVision Studio was born to fill that gap: a studio that operates within the law in every jurisdiction it flies in and delivers finished product, not just raw footage.
My role
Founder, lead pilot, and editor. I handle the full cycle: flight planning (permits, restricted zones, weather), capture, post-production, and final delivery.
Multi-jurisdiction operation
Flying commercially between Panama, the US, and the EU means maintaining three active certifications and knowing three regulatory frameworks:
- US — FAA Part 107: license for commercial operations. Complies with Title 14 CFR Part 107, requires recurrent training every 24 months.
- Spain / EU — AESA A1/A3: open category for drones under 25 kg, flying away from people (A3) or near with drones under 250 g (A1).
- Panama — AAC: certified professional operator from the Civil Aeronautical Authority, for commercial flights within Panamanian territory.
And before every flight: FAA TRUST (recreational) to keep the habit, and verifying NOTAMs / restricted zones (especially near airports, protected areas, or special events).
Current fleet
| Equipment | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| DJI Air 3 | Main workhorse | Dual cam (tele + wide), 4K/100fps, stable flight, ideal for real estate and construction |
| DJI Mini 2 | Travel + relaxed permits | Under 250 g skips many restrictions, perfect for urban areas and travel |
| DJI Neo | Creative shots + social media | Indoor flight, automatic modes for reels and verticals |
| DJI Avata 2 | Cinematic FPV | Shots no traditional drone can achieve — tunnels, impossible transitions, immersive feel |
Project types
- Real estate: aerial property tours, showing the surroundings, top-down view of the lot.
- Construction and works: monthly construction progress documentation, comparative views, 3D progress modeling.
- Events: weddings, concerts, launches. Capturing the moment from an angle impossible to obtain with ground cameras.
- Tourism: hotels, resorts, natural attractions — the product that sells destinations in Panama and Spain.
- Corporate marketing: institutional video with aerial opening, showing company facilities.
Post-production
Aerial footage is just raw material. The difference is made in editing:
- Color grading with custom LUTs developed for Caribbean / European colors.
- Additional stabilization (DJI already stabilizes but sometimes it’s worth re-processing).
- Mix with ground cameras (Sony / Canon DSLR for detail, drone for opening).
- Licensed music and SFX (Musicbed, Artlist).
- Delivery in multiple formats: 16:9 for YouTube/web, 9:16 for Reels/TikTok, 4:5 for Instagram feed.
Coordination with regulations
What sets a professional operation apart is legal traceability. Every flight is documented:
- Logbook with date, time, GPS location, equipment, weather conditions, purpose.
- Active permits attached to the project (the client can request them if their insurance requires it).
- Photo of certificate always available (see credentials for public verification).
